Manufacturers Call for “12 Days of Permitting Reform” on Capitol Hill

Manufacturers, led by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), are calling on Congress to advance key permitting reform legislation over the next two weeks. They are urging House members to pass several bills—including the PERMIT Act, the SPEED Act, and other measures—to streamline environmental reviews, reduce regulatory delays, and accelerate energy, infrastructure, and AI-related projects. NAM argues that modernizing the permitting process is essential for U.S. competitiveness, investment, and job creation, emphasizing that most manufacturers would expand operations if permitting were more efficient.
