Skin deep? At Estée Lauder, beauty science runs deeper

The Estée Lauder Companies’ success has been driven by science and innovation since Estée Lauder founded the brand in 1946. As the company expanded, it consolidated major research and manufacturing operations on Long Island in the late 1960s, helping accelerate product development and strengthen its biotechnology-focused approach to skincare.

From breakthroughs like Advanced Night Repair to today’s research hub at Farmingdale State College’s Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, Estée Lauder continues to lead in science-backed beauty while remaining one of Long Island’s largest employers and a strong partner in developing regional STEM talent.
