Existing Employee Training & Business Certification
Ignite LI has a local and global network of trainers to cover a wide variety of business training and certification programs. We will work with you to identify your needs, find the best fit for those needs and identify any potential funding to offset your costs.
There are three programs available that provide funding for training current employees (County, State and Federal). Please contact us for details.

Ignite LI partners closely with Hofstra University’s Phil Coniglio, the Director of Hostra’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Co-Op Program which provides Engineering support and students to companies.
We also have a strong relationship with Ken White at Brookhaven National Laboratories and we are working on ways to engage local industry with the resources at BNL.
We work with the Composites Prototyping Center in Plainview to provide local industry with high quality prototype assets for the rapidly growing composites market.
Other regional resources are available through Stony Brook University and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership under the SBU LI Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium. Resources at Stony Brook include, their Advanced Energy Center, Center for Advanced Technology in Diagnostic Tools, Sensor Systems (Sensor CAT), Center for Biotechnology, Center for Corporate Education, Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology, Center for Operational Excellence, Clean Energy Business Incubator Program, the Stony Brook Incubator Program and the Small Business Development Center.
Ignite LI works closely with local, State and Federal government personnel and agencies to support both individual manufacturers and our regional industry sectors. We have been able to help companies with site clean-ups, sewers, certificates of occupancy, federal bids, state funding clawbacks, and a variety of other issues.
On Long Island, we engage our State Senators and Assemblymen, our County Legislators, the NYS Department of Labor, Empire State Development, local Industrial Development Agencies, County Economic Development officials, and local towns.
Across New York State, we engage the Governor’s office, State Comptroller’s office, and Empire State Development.
At the Federal level, we engage New York’s Senators and Congressional representatives, the National Association of Manufacturers and the Manufacturing Institute, the National Women’s Business Council, the Aerospace Industries Association and the President’s Manufacturing Day initiative.
Ignite LI has a strategic partnership with Recruit Long Island to develop internship and apprenticeship programs for regional industry. This partnership is strongly supported by the Workforce Development Institute.
We are working with Suffolk County Economic Development and the Farmingdale State College Small Business Development Center on an apprenticeship project.
On a national level, we are engaged with the Aerospace Industries Association and the National Association of Manufacturers on workforce initiatives.
