IgniteLI Lobbies for Industry with Coalition of Manufacturers

IgniteLI, joins the NYS Manufacturers Alliance in the State’s Capitol to advocate for our Legislative Agenda.

Albany, NY IgniteLI joined the New York State Manufacturers Alliance, a statewide organization of Manufacturing associations working together on behalf of manufacturing success in New York State on Tuesday for Manufacturing Advocacy day in Albany. Together, the group addressed specific policy and legislative issues that impact the State’s manufacturing sector and met directly with State legislators and policymakers through lobby visits.

In Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul’s address to the group of advocates, she highlighted the legacy of Empire State innovators and rededicated New York State’s commitment to its Manufacturing industries. “The Lt. Governor discussed the state of manufacturing and hailed the NYS Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program, a sentiment also addressed by Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon” said Patrick Boyle, Executive Director of IgniteLI. “Commissioner Reardon went on to discuss the variety of products made here in New York State and the strength its diversity brings to the industry,” he said.

The major topics that the advocacy group discussed with policymakers and elected officials included;

Economic Development- Tax Parity for all NYS ManufacturersWorkforce Initiatives- Manufacturers Intermediary Apprenticeship Program and Workforce Training

Human Resources/ Labor Issues- Proposed Paid Sick Leave

Energy Issues- CLCPA Implementation and other energy issues
