Major Investment in Long Island’s Defense Manufacturing Workforce
We’re proud to partner with Nassau BOCES as part of the Long Island Defense Manufacturing Resilience Initiative, made possible through a $5 million U.S. Small Business Administration Empower to Grow (E2G) grant. Nassau BOCES was one of just 11 organizations nationwide selected to receive this funding.
As part of the initiative, Ignite Long Island will provide technical assistance to defense manufacturers, helping companies strengthen their cybersecurity posture and meet federal compliance requirements, while Nassau BOCES expands workforce training in high-demand skilled trades through innovative programs and mobile training labs developed in partnership with Festo Didactic.
This collaboration represents an important step toward strengthening Long Island’s defense industrial base, supporting manufacturers, and developing the skilled workforce needed for the future.SBA Award Announcement
