Long Island Manufacturing Day 2021
A coalition of Manufacturing Support Organization Rally Long Island!
Hauppauge, NY- A consortium of Manufacturing advocates has organized the 3rd annual Manufacturing Day Celebration to take place virtually at Long Island MFG Day 2021 on Friday, October 1stat 8:30AM. In 2019 7,642 manufacturing job openings in Nassau and Suffolk Counties went unanswered according to the Workforce Development Institute (WDI), a crisis which can be attributed to two issues: a skills gap and misperceptions about modern manufacturing, the COVID19 pandemic has compounded the challenge tremendously.
Manufacturing Day is an opportunity for thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders and empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
Manufacturing support Organizations ADDAPT, HIA-LI, IgniteLI, MTRC, National Association of Manufacturers, Stony Brook University, SBDC, Workforce Development Institute, and Summit Safety & Efficiency have organized this year’s virtual seminar designed to bring students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and manufacturers together to discuss careers, opportunities and vocations in manufacturing and build awareness of the industries that thrive here on Long Island. Panels will include Young Manufacturers, Higher Education Programs, STEM Initiatives, COVID response, and Shop Floor Tours followed by Q&A with experts.
