Federal Cybersecurity Professionals release Advisory in response to increased threats detected.

Hauppauge, NY: IgniteLI, the Manufacturing Consortium of Long Island advises all members to act immediately to safeguard their networks, key resources, and critical data. In a press release on April 20th, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency announced an increase in Russian State-Sponsored cybercrime targeting American and Australian suppliers in retaliation to economic sanctions put in place due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The advisory recommends several immediate actions for all organizations to take to protect their networks, which include:

Prioritize patching of known exploited vulnerabilities;

Enforce multi-factor authentication;

Monitor remote desktop protocol (RDP); and

Provide end-user awareness and training

All organizations should share information about incidents and unusual cyber activity with their respective cybersecurity authorities. When cyber incidents are reported quickly, it can contribute to stopping further attacks. In the U.S., organizations should inform CISA’s 24/7 Operations Center at [email protected] or (888) 282-0870, or an FBI field office.
